Art Deco lamps traditionally would be those produced from about 1925 through 1939, however today many people include items made up until almost the end of the 1950's when they describe the Art Deco period. Art Deco lamps can be found made of many differnet materials from solid silver, porcelain, chrome, clay and various types of decorative glass. Many art deco lamps feature a statue type base often of animals or nudes. They commonly have very ornate and colorful shades and decorative bases.
